The Light of Christmas

The Christmas lights we see decorating homes and businesses this time of year tells us it’s the holidays. The Christmas lights and Christmas music we hear put us in the Christmas mood. Some of us think of home this time of year, some of loved ones they miss; all this brings a nostalgic feel to Christmas that captivates our hearts and warms our spirit. Most of us think of gifts and shopping this time of year. There are a few that even think of baby Jesus in the manager this time of year. A few even go to church this time of year. This is the Christmas that most Christians come to know this time of year.

Some of us are saying it’s a cold dark evil world out there, even at this time of year. Some ignore all this and work hard at having fun with friends and family this time of year. They spend their way to happiness. There are even some of us out to do evil in the world and spread the darkness this time of year, and they have help!

Living in this world of ours today, you can see this for yourselves. Those of us living only in the light of this world, is the same as living in total darkness spiritually. The darkness is all around us living in this world without light. Without the true and eternal light that comes from Jesus Christ you cannot see where you are going and what is happening to you in this world, and that’s a problem.

Living in this darkness, not knowing where you are going, is going to send you to hell. Satan will see to it that all those that stumble around in the darkness of this world, will lead you in a life that will end up in you going to hell.

Let me tell you again who the real light is, that light is Jesus Christ. The Light of Jesus Christ penetrates all darkness and shines light on everything and everyone. No evil can stand up to this light, no sins can hide within the light. John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

This is what Christmas is really all about. Jesus Christ came to this evil filthy world of ours and gave us the only way to salvation by bringing us His light, in order to penetrate the darkness and despair of our sinful life. Jesus Christ brings His light of love and salvation to us.

John 12:46 “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” All we need do is take it! Salvation isn’t hard for us to attain, Christ already did the hard work and paid the price for our sins. Becoming a born again Christian means taking Jesus Christ as your savior whocovers you in His blood and saves you. You still need to be baptized (full emersion) in water. Somewhere between being born again and being baptized the Holy Spirit comes into your body and guides you the rest of your life. The Holy Spirit and reading the Bible (the King James Bible) is the best way to survive spiritually in this world for a Christian and is the only way to know God and His thoughts.

Salvation is a life and death matter in everyones life here on earth, take it seriously, a lot is at stake!

What Jesus was really saying in John 12:46 is that He doesn’t want you confused about your life or about yourself, or about the problems you’re having in this world. He wants you to know and understand eternity and Heaven, and about God. He is saying that you will be confused and in the dark without Jesus Christ and His light. Walking around not being able to see is a very dangerous thing to do. He is saying He will shine His light on you along with clarity, peace and salvation. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

This Christmas think on the birth of baby Jesus, and what He did and will do for all of us if you take Him as your savior. Think on the darkness and evil in this world and why it is getting worse, it is no accident. Think of the attacks on the Christian faith and the churches these days, and ask yourself why? What do you think is going on, and in what days are we living in? Think hard and look deep into these questions because evil is at work and Satan wants all the souls he can get. Without the light of Jesus, there is no light at all. And without light you cannot see what evil is doing and to whom it is happening.

Find Jesus Christ this Christmas and give yourself the best gift you could get in this world of ours, salvation!

All glory to God
