The light filled the room as the woman sat in her kitchen and drank her coffee. She thought how beautiful the morning sun looked as it surrounded her as it always did. She smiled as she thought of how God is doing the same thing spiritually to us His children. It warmed her more than the hot coffee she drank. She looked out the kitchen window down at the street below and her thoughts changed to how cold and evil the world is becoming out there. How the fog that she has been shown has changed how most people think and act in their everyday lives. It gave her the chills just thinking about her two encounters with the fog and those who walk in sin and are confused by the fog about good and evil as they walk within the fog.
She remembered not too long ago how this street was a nice place to live, but she could already see this morning as people down there in the street were arguing and carrying on about trivial things. She thought of all that God had shown her in the past few weeks and what it all meant to her and the world.
The woman was day-dreaming and relaxing when she sat upright as she heard the familiar voice of God talking to her. The Lord said, “I want you to go into the streets and witness unto the people you find there. Go and have faith that no weapon used against you will prosper. Go and walk in the light of righteousness. Look for the glimmer of light coming from within those that are looking for the light. Be a beacon to them and bring them to Me.”
Swallowing the hot coffee she had in her mouth she coughed and tried to get her breath. The whole thing happened so fast and without warning, and then having God talking to her was almost too much. She felt a great joy in hearing from her beloved God and then even more so when He told her of the work He wanted her to do. Her thoughts all ran together as she tried to think of how to obey God and all He had told her to do.
The calming voice of the Holy Spirit started to help her, reassuring her and soon she was getting ready to go into the streets, and face the fog once again and the evil that was in there.
The woman gathered herself and said a prayer as she headed for the front door. “Dear Lord I pray, I walk in faith and do Your will, guide me and protect me as I do Your work. Show me those who I need to find, help me bring them to you. Dear Lord, give me the strength and wisdom to be successful in Your work. I pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
The woman opened the door and walked out and looked down at the street, but saw only fog. Thick swirling gray fog and the ghost-like figures moving through the fog started moving away from the light she gave off as she walked. As she descended into the fog it covered most of the light they saw from her and started to come closer to her. They pushed her and cursed at her and tried to block her from moving at all. The fog swirled around her trying to confuse her and made the place she was much darker. She smiled at that because the darker it became the brighter the light within her shown forth. The forms moving within the fog had no light coming from them, she thought, looking at them it almost looked like the light coming from her was being absorbed by them, it was like there was not just darkness within them but the absence of light at all within them, if that were possible.
She walked in the direction she knew was the way to go and soon she saw what looked like walls coming up out of the fog to block her way. She found she had to move quickly to stay ahead of these obstacles as she walked. The fog was trying hard to stop her from her work. She witnessed evil unholy things being committed by those within the fog. She felt a growing revulsion as to what she was seeing and fear of being alone began to grow in her and those around her responded like wild dogs to fresh meat.
The pushing and cursing became worse, and they stated to laugh at her telling her that her God wouldn’t help her, that he would abandon her and she would join them in this beautiful world they all lived in. She felt like crying out with fear and rage but the soothing voice of the Holy Spirit calmed her and got her back on track.
Shaken but settled she moved off towards her first goal. As she walked she rubbed her eyes thinking it was a trick, but she saw a faint blue light outlining this woman standing in a corner. Moving towards her quickly the fog swirled in around her and darkness descended on them. The woman was bathed in her light and held out her hand. Taking her hand they both held each other and the woman said ever so gently “God heard your cries. Yes, there is a God and He died to save you. He sent me to bring you to Him. Follow me if you want to know more, you will be safe within the light.” They held hands as they turned to go, seeing the evil coming closer from within the fog.
Moving forward the fog almost felt denser now and moving through it was becoming harder to do. Arms reached out to stop the two as the woman looked for the next soul to be saved. A wind came up and blew at them, whiping the fog past them as they moved on. The woman looked over at a crowd by a large brick building and found her next person.
The crowd had the man cornered against the wall and was hitting him as he tried to get away. The woman came through the crowd, letting the light part them as she moved closer. She saw the same blue light coming from around the man and came over to see if he was alright. He looked shaken and surprised at the light coming from her. Looking at her and then to the other woman he relaxed a little.
The woman spoke as before in a very quiet calm voice. “God,”she said, “knows your pain, your depression and fear. He has a plan for your life, come with us and I will bring you to Him. You will be safe within the light.”
He looked around and shook his head and took the other woman’s hand and they left as the crowd closed in on them. It grew darker and the fog got very thick as they walked. The darkness helped as the light the woman gave off kept the evil away, just out of reach. Now she felt the wind pick up again and now it was getting colder.
The ground was getting soft and uneven and it felt like they were in a cold wet grassland. The woman wasn’t sure of what her feet were going to step on or if the ground was going to be level or if she was going to trip over something as the fog was so thick she couldn’t see the ground in front of her. She heard what sounded like animals growling somewhere close by but she couldn’t see them. This was starting to get to her, because she feared what might happen to her in the woods with the wild animals that lived there.
Fear grew as she walked, and a warm feeling came over her and the Holy Spirit spoke softly, “You’re safe with the Lord, no harm will come to you and your charges.” The woman walked on through the fog with her charges witnessing evil things she could hardly believe. She calmed the man and woman and they all held hands as much for support as to not get separated.
The woman lead them to the right and up a hill. Feeling the rise of the ground as they walked they all heard a lot of voices ahead. At the top of the hill they saw a large group of people with their backs to them. Moving closer they saw a man up on a large rock staying safely out of their grasp. The man looked frightened and was looking for a way out. The woman came through the group, spreading them with the light she gave off as she went.
The group backed away from the light as before and she stood at the base of the big rock. Looking up, she spoke softly saying, “Are you looking for help or maybe even your salvation in the mist and fog of chaos? I see you are standing on a rock, I can show you another rock, this rock brings safety yes, but also salvation, your salvation. If you are looking for safety and so much more, come with us and I will bring you to Him.”
The man looked at them and then at the group standing on the other side of the rock looking up at him with hateful eyes. He jumped down and smiled and took her hand as the rest followed her away from that place. The woman started leading her charges across the top of the hill when she heard the Holy Spirit telling her she was done, there were no more to be saved here this day. “Return to your home safely and you will know what to do when you arrive.”
In horror she looked around not knowing which way to go. Feeling her charges were becoming afraid and restless she grew uneasy. Looking around she finally saw a light coming from her left but far away and she knew it was an answer to a prayer. Turning, she walked with confidence knowing the light would guide her home. The fog was thick around them as they walked quickly forward following the woman in front of them. The fog grew darker again but she could still see the light. She stopped and fell backwards into the others as they all landed in a pile on the ground.
Looking at her they saw the problem in front of them. They got up and were looking down at the edge of the ground and what looked like a bottomless pit. They looked at a fifteen foot space before they saw the ground on the other side. Standing there they looked left and right but saw the pit went on in both directions and far out of sight.
“What are we going to do?” they all asked looking around as they heard the sounds of people coming up at them through the fog. The woman got to her knees and prayed, “Dear Lord what am I to do? Lord show me the way to safely. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
The voice of the Lord answered her at once and said to her, “The light shows you the way, let not anything stop you.” She looked at the pit in front of her and said “but Lord the pit is stopping me from getting my charges home to You.” The Lord spoke again saying “I told you I will protect you, walk on and no harm will come to you and your charges.”
The woman heard no more from Him so she got up and looked at the other side and down into the black hole before her. She heard the evil people coming up on them fast and she looked at those she had gathered and said, “I prayed to God and He told me what to do to get us all to safely. I want you all to be brave and have faith in me because I have faith in God to keep His word. I am going to go straight over there”, pointing at the other side, “and I want you to follow me as soon as you see I am not going to fall to my death.”
They looked at each other and back at the voices coming behind them and nodded, unsure of what was going to happen next. Inside the woman was saying to herself, “what the heck am I doing, this is crazy.” She shook her head and told herself “that’s Satan talking, do what God told you to do!”
She went over to the side of the pit and told the others to hold hands and follow her after they saw she was all right. Without thinking anymore she just stepped out and walked over the gap and was on the other side before she knew anything had happened. Turning with amazement she saw the others starting to come across as she had just done. Holding hands they reached her and safety and looked back at where they just were. The woman thanked God for this miracle she and the others had just witnessed. Knowing she had to move she didn’t dwell on the miracle for long, she looked around until she found the light off in the distance and started walking in that direction.
The woman sensed they were coming into the town she lived in by the buildings and street she saw within the fog. She knew that also meant more evil people within the fog also. A large group of people were coming up the street towards them and she stopped abruptly as the others bumped into each other and the woman. She heard a voice and smiled, she moved them all over to the side of a building and got down and hid within the fog as the group passed. She heard one of the evil people in the front say “they’re around here somewhere, find them!”
The woman had used the chaos within the fog to confuse the evil seeking them. Passing her church she now knew where they were and lead them straight to her apartment. Leading them up the stairs they came up out of the fog. Seeing clearly now she looked at her charges and saw they were looking up at her. She smiled and opened the door and followed them in. She got some coffee for them all and set it on the table in front of them. She breathed a sigh of relief and told them to sit down around the table. She started by telling them that they were now perfectly safe, no one can harm us in here as we are protected in this place by God.
She went on, “I want to explain what just happened out there today. God had heard your cries for salvation and sent me to find you in this evil fog that has become the world as we know it. God has graciously made this happen so I could share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with you and to teach you of God’s Word. I want to say a short prayer before we go any further. “Dear Lord” she said as she bowed her head in prayer, “thank You for Your plans for these people and using me as your instrument today in bringing them to you. Thank You Lord for the miracle You performed and saved us. Thank You Lord for protecting us and leading me safely back here with my charges. I pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.”
She turned to the others and said, “You called out to God and He heard you. You trusted God and me when I told you God had sent me to help you find Him. You trusted in God as I brought you through all that happened this day. Before God you all must admit you are a sinner in need of a Savior. Think about your life and how you feel as if something is missing and you feel empty inside.”
They all looked down at the floor as she spoke. “You see when God created us He left an empty place inside us that only He can fill. Countless times in our lives we try to fill this emptiness with useless things of this world, but you still feel empty inside after you get what you want, which leads to sin and depression and more. Think of this as a puzzle with the missing pieces in Satan’s hands. You look high and low throughout your whole life and never find them. Satan holds them out for you to see and you keep chasing after them until you die, never finding God and salvation.”
“Now when you surrender your life to Jesus Christ and are born again, you really seek God and now you feel complete. You feel for the first time in your life complete and at peace. You live everyday to serve and love Him. And He loves you as His child. When you have a relationship with God, a huge weight will be lifted off your shoulders, you feel light as a feather and free from your sins, the hurt and pain you endured your whole life without Jesus Christ is lifted. God’s love will wash over you and into your life. This is a feeling no one can imagine before coming to God. Jesus Christ loves you and sets you free from the chains and slavery of sins as you are His child now, in good standing with the Father through Jesus Christ.”
“Now if you are ready let’s get you right with the Lord….confess your sins to God right now and be saved. Here is the sinners prayer, say it after me.”
“I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus Christ is your Son, and He died on the cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead, and I ask You right now to come in to my life, and be my personal Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins and will worship You all the days of my life. Because Your Word is truth, I confess with my mouth that I am Born Again and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
They all finished and looked up more peaceful and yet excited as they felt the Holy Spirit coming into their lives. The woman sat down and offered coffee to them and brought her King James Bible to the table. They all looked at it and they passed the book around the table.
The woman said to them, “this Book, this Bible is the living Word of God. All that He wants us to know and do are in here. All your questions can be answered from within here, you can find answers to all your troubles within this Book. Your relationship with God, all the history of God’s people are in here.”
They all looked at and read a few verses from the Bible as they passed the Bible around and turned the pages. The woman took her Bible back and said to them, “Here is a simple teaching that may help you all understand what needs to happen next.
Here in John 3:3-7 Jesus said to a man called Nicodemus that you must be born again. I’m sure most of you heard of that phrase “born again” but what does this really mean?”
“It simply means that you must have a spiritual re-birth. Jesus said you cannot see or enter into the Kingdom of God without it. There are three steps to Calvary: death, burial, and resurrection. Just like Jesus did but we do it symbolically because He was our substitute, suffering a real death, a real burial and a real resurrection.”
“The next step for you is to be baptized. Are any of you against this or don’t want to do this? All but one said they wanted to be baptized for the Lord. One of the men said that his parents had him baptized when he was a baby, he already was baptized he said. The woman came over to him and said that as a baby you didn’t sin or have a conscience to commit a sin, therefore blameless before a Holy God. You are now a grown man and are a sinner and in need of baptism. You must be fully immersed in water too, as the dead need to be put fully under the earth. With baptism we take on spiritually Christ’s burial by baptism in water, by immersion in His Name.”
“Paul writes in the book of Romans, Romans 6:4 saying, “Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death”…..Then finally we partake of the resurrection of Jesus Christ by the infilling of the Holy Ghost. This is the new life that enables us to live, as a Christian should. So we see that being born again means to spiritually die, repent, and symbolically be buried – baptism and spiritually rise again- then receive the Holy Ghost.”
“Does everyone understand this?” Looking around they all shook their heads yes. The woman said “Good, praise God! After receiving Christ as your Lord and Savior this is the perfect opportunity to get baptized.”
“Well if no one minds using my tub we can go to the bathroom upstairs and get started.” She led them up the stairs and continued, “I will ask you a few questions, then you will be completely immersed in water as I have told you. Then you will be starting your new life in Christ.”
One after another they were put into the tub and were asked, are you ready? Do you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and surrender your life to Him and renounce all evil?
“I now baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost”… as their heads go under and come back up she said “Praise God.”
After they were all baptized and reasonably dry they all headed back down stairs. She lead them back to the table in the kitchen and holding hands she lead them in worship and praise. After that she looked up and said “Welcome to the family of God.” They were all asking questions and talking and feeling very light and energetic. The man that was the last to be found… the one up on the rock took the Bible and started to read, he heard a strange voice that told him to turn to the book of John. The voice “the Holy Spirit” told him read this, read this from Chapter one, verse one through fourteen.
As the man read the others stop talking and looked on as he read.
“1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
When he had finished the woman added “Amen.” The woman asked him how he knew to find and read that from the Bible. Looking up at her he said it was this voice in my head, a voice I never heard before told me to read that, but I don’t know why. The woman smiled and told him, it was beautiful and he would understand as he learned about God and His word (the Bible).
Seeing light shining on the wall they looked over at the window and saw the sun rising, bringing them all a brand new day, their first day as a new child of God. Just then they heard a noise, a knocking sound and soon the woman realized what the noise was and got up from the table. She turned to her charges and said “no harm will come to any of us here, I think I know what this is.”
The woman went to her front door and opened it not knowing exactly what to expect. Seeing her good friend in Christ and pastor she hugged him and welcomed him into the apartment. Looking at him she said “what are you doing here and so early in the morning?” Looking at her and then at the others seated at the table he told her he was told to come here and bring some new brothers and sister to the church. “God told me this as I prayed this morning. He told me you had brought some new brothers and sister to God and He wanted them to get to know His church and to get to know me their new pastor.” The pastor put his hands together and said, “oh what a great and blessed day this truly is.”
The new children of God got to know the pastor and he them, as the morning passed. The pastor looked at the time and said, “I think we had better be off, I’ve much to tell you and I know you must be getting tired from staying up all night as you all did.”
The woman saw them out the door feeling God was pleased with her. She went to bed thinking of the miracle God preformed and that she witnessed last night as she made her way here and to safety. She fell into a deep peaceful sleep
